Pair of Canadiens selected for Eastern Canada Cup

Trenton, ON – The Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Wednesday that 40 players have been named to rosters for the upcoming 2023 Eastern Canada Cup Challenge from November 13 -15th in Trenton, ON.

05′ F Luc Malkhassian, who currently leads the Jr Canadiens in scoring with 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points in 21 games, is excited for the opportunity.

“I’m very honored to be named to the Eastern Canada Cup Roster,” Malkhassian said. “Super excited to represent the Toronto Jr A Canadiens and the OJHL at this event.”

03′ D William Gourgouvelis, who has 19 assists in 20 games since joining the Canadiens earlier this season, was the other member selected.

” Being able to represent Team Hawerchuk in the Eastern Canada Cup is an incredible honour,” said Gourgouvelis. ” It should be a very exciting and memorable week in Trenton.” 

The Eastern Canada Cup All-Star Challenge will be played at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens in Trenton Nov. 13-15.

A total of 23 games will be played using a modified two-period format in a round-robin, quarter-final, semifinal, and championship game format.
