TORONTO, ON – Two Toronto Jr. A Canadiens alumni will be participating in the Toronto Maple Leafs development camp which kicks off Sunday at the Ford Performance Centre.
Gianfranco Cassaro (2015–17) and Ryan Tverberg (2018–20) will be part of the camp, which features a total of 24 forwards, 12 defencemen and 6 goaltenders.
Cassaro, spent two seasons with the Canadiens from 2015–17 before heading to the USHL which would lead the Nobleton, ON native to land in Division I at Umass, where he spent two seasons before transferring to RIT where he has spent the past two seasons. Cassaro was invited to camp this season as a free agent invite following a strong season with the Tigers.
Tverberg, also spent two seasons from 2018–2020 with the Canadiens before attending Division I Uconn, where he spent the past three seasons. Tverberg was drafted by the Maple Leafs 213th overall in 2020 and signed an entry-level contract with the Maple Leafs in March 2023.
